Hand Harvested Flaky Sea Salt from the Faroe Islands
Sjósalt [Faroese: sea salt] is a flaky and crispy gourmet sea salt perfect for the Faroese gastronomic experience. The source of our Atlantic seawater is a narrow strait with high tidal currents. The pure seawater is pumped from 18 meters depth and slowly heated and reduced, leaving a concentrated brine. The brine is crystalized in small batches and hand-harvested using old school Scandinavian techniques. Sjósalt is a small family business in the rural village of Skálavík.
